so this was originally my doodle/thumbnail for a more realistic finished version, but I ended up liking the kinda cartoony feel to it... kinda charming, I think. I would have made everything probably more ornate if I had the patience, but this was sort of just sitting around 2/3rds done so I figured I'd just post it.
ahhhh, spera. it's awesome. check it out. I'm in part 2!
I used to be so scared of drybrushing! or, err, more like sneezing ink, like here. but I'm left handed, and always ended up putting my hand in my line and making s huge ugly mess, so I finally said fuck it, and now I like to tackle my work with as much inky enthusiasm as possible to compensate for my propensity to make mistakes. Fortune favors the bold, my friend! I have no idea how many anatomical/perspective boo boos I made in this, I'm sure they're in there, but I no longer care. it feels pretty good! thanks for checking it out!
Totally! The hell with perfect anatomy, etc. If I kept up what I was doing when I was a teenager, I would have given up. Anything I tried too hard on was always so ugly and sterile.
I try to be as honest as possibly with myself when I work too.
You are like the master of drybrush.
I totaly need to get into that shizzle
I try to be as honest as possibly with myself when I work too.
