Much Needed Update!

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 25, 2011, 8:25 PM
Hi Guys!

So much to cover! (well, is it so much? Maybe it just feels like a lot because it's been a long time.)

First off, RVANTHOLOGY. To all those who submitted to the book for guest art and nobody ever got back to you, it isn't because of our love for you. Rest assured, the love is TREMENDOUS STILL! We received a very high volume of entries, and basically took it first-come-first-serve. So thanks very very much to everyone who showed interest!

RVANTHOLOGY is available for sale if you haven't scoped the site yet, at [link] go there and check that shit out! Five short stories, containing some very emotive tales of living in the southern capital of Richmond, Virginia. If you're into fish, beer, sex, cats, monsters, ambulances, the homeless, hating cops, thinking about the devil, or any other mid-20s emotional conundrums, you'll probably be into it.

Secondly, IM HAVING A SMALL DRAWING SALE! Yeah! Yeeeaahhh!  Check out my most recent deviations to check out some awesome little pieces featuring scenes from Harry Potter, The Neverending Story, Lord of the Rings, and Samurai III. Buy them so I can pay my rent! Gnarly! (Because I'm poor! Like all the rest of us! ahh hahaha. ha. haaaa.... ;___; )

and THIRDLY, as of right now, I am opening up for digital commissions!

For a drawing of your choice, linework will be $15, and full color will be $20.  You will be sent the high res file of the piece personally first, and if so desired, we can discuss sending of the actual linework. Again, this will be paypal or well-concealed cash in the mail.

AWESOME!

And on account of the fact that I love art and drawing a shit ton of a lot, let's end this money-talkin journal entry with some art I have been checking out recently by some of you guys! Yeah! Lets share our favorites and make tons of cool stuff!

What made you want to become an artist?

there was never really a "becoming" stage for me, I think. haha! I was sort of just born liking to draw and do art things, and this is just the natural progression of entertaining myself in that way for all my life so far. I would think of being an artist more as a state of mind, like a lifestyle, instead of a profession separate from the rest of life.

Influences, huh? A myriad of stuff, really! I read a lot of manga, and did so when I was a kid, so that's a big influence. I have a pretty good online dialogue with other artist peers that are up and coming that I find myself sometimes doing projects with, or otherwise exchanging letters. (this one is a big influence.) and I always listen to music when I work, hand tailoring a playlist to fit every piece. An amalgam of stuff! Just take all the stuff you love and try to piece it all together into one talent-beast. yeah!
